More power from my Jdm Itr swap (help)
I ready to get some more power outta of my jdm type r motor, and I'm leaning toward upgrading my cams, springs, retainers, throttle body, injectors, opening the exhaust to 2 1/2", tune, cold air.. Is this a good realiable setup? and what kind of cams are suggested? I'm about to purchase spoon cams and throttle body.. Also I'm looking for something a lil more powerful than stock with more top end power..tx

if you told us what kindda power your looking to make or goals that would help. my suggestion is to go to the all motor section and look at the different setups to give yourself an idea of what kindda power and what setups people use. Goodluck

looks like boltons for now.
Start with AEM CAI and flow stack (BPi), ECU (crome, or something else). Tune it.
Once you get the feel for it, get the header, exhaust, cams ( I like bc 3+ for daily driver or bc 4, s2s2, s2pro1, - depending what you are looking for, all of these will need springs).
Tune again, learn. You'll be close to maxing out stock injectors at this point ( or already there), bump fuel pressure to 55 psi, tune again if you change this, I find that you get a bit more power with increased pressure, even though you can control injector duration with crome and bigger injectors) leave TB alone for now, and this should keep things interesting for now and can easily give +30whp, and much nicer powerband...
Have fun.

Definitely a forum to to stay tuned too!
I have a 96' civic hatch with an ITR in it. from my research, I'll be going with the Skunk2 Pro Stage 2 Cams, Titanium Retainers and springs (recommended but not 'always necessary). A Lighter Flywheel, Under Pulley, and Cam Gears are good investments too! Though they will not 'give' you horsepower, they will help your car accelerate greatly.
For a good view of the Skunk2 camshafts (s2s2) and what they can do, check out:

The bigger game I'm working on right now is my launch, Skunk2 Pro Series 'S' For my civic. Probably lower 1" to 1.5" With Pro Series Chamber kit front & back.
I'll be following this post... Very interesting! I'm in the same boat... Thou funds are a problem for me atm lol.
Everything I bought I bought from http://shopping.lightningmotorsports.com e-mail replies are slow to zero. But very friendly and helpful when you call them!
