From what i know and seen in my own two hands the difference between the h22a4 and f20b head bolts are this: the f20b has 12 point heads and the h22a4 has six point heads. They are the same diameter and length so when i attached my brothers f20b head after replacing the head gasket i torqued it in the 3 step sequence provided in the 97-01 Prelude Helms.

As for the rod bolts i hear ya. Those rods have no duplicate as everything else either has the stud/bolt type (B/D/F22-23 and H series motors) or larger rod bolts (like k20 motors have 9mm rod bolts). Hopefully the ones you have are in good condition, they arent stretched. On my own personal f20b build i have a set of custom rods being made up which uses 3/8 arp bolts hooked up to custom cp pistons. i wont have them personally till 3 weeks from now, but when i go back to the builders shop i will ask him if he knows because he has access to lots of Japanese catalogs (he reads japanese) and he was going to put the stock rods and **** in till we both agreed the condition of the bolts was unknown. he must know something let me ask him. i will post a thread on my entire F2b Built f20b build in the coming months

not trying to be a smartass. but, a haynes/helms manual is worth its weight in gold for stuff like this. and tons of other questions that pop up.

for future reference.

the is no haynes for the f20b. I used the H22a4 (97-01 Prelude) manual for that. Like i said before, its the rod bolts i couldnt find the specs for. As i said before im gonna find out in the next few days what my builder was going to torque it to since he has access to all these Japanese service manuals and he knows very well what he's doing, otherwise why would i take anything to him?

My build is going very well thank you, with the specs ive acquired in them. I took the time to compare the two motors since they are here same this same that blah blah blah then the differences blah blah blah its all over honda tech so i wont have to post them. if you have the motor you should already know

I mean lets be realistic the h22a4 and f20b have internal diffences but not to the point where every single nut bolt and screw is different. Just like there arent any oil squirters in it with a bolt where the jet gets its oil from and there arent mounting points for the squirters. No oil cooler and so forth. its differences here and there. The rod bolts are the only thing in there that has no duplicate and i will find out from him about their specs. not talking about you ripzone, but there are people outthere who literally think the f20b has some super rod bolt. Ill find out for you, including the books name and translation so there wont be anymore "not trying to sound like a smartass...." if you read completely, i used it for the head bolts which answered his first question but i knew the rod bolts were differnt so did the builder so we thought of some other ideas. Read it again

you are absolutely correct. So use the torque you'd use for the f23 accords rod bolts. I chose the arp head bolts for mine, and for my brother he chose to use the stock head bolts

Default f20b head gasket

http://www.autodynamics-honda.com/hopcbcyhega.html

and the shipping will be around 40 dollars.

i bought mine from the same place as part of the head set (200 plus 40 shipping) but ended up sleeving mines and the bore is now 88mm so im selling the head gasket. Brand new never mounted just opened to check for damage for 60 dollars plus 10 dollars shipping. let me know

I'll probably buy the whole valve cover gasket set.

Can you use ARP head studs for an h22 on this motor?

Default f20b

you mean the whole head set right? Thats like 240 shipped which is what i paid for mine. If you just need the valve cover set you can buy the one for the h22 any year 93-01

as for the arp studs im using the H22a4 arp studs.
