Default 98 Rs are classics.

I called to refinance the car with my new credit union and the lady on the phone told me that it is listed under "classic/collectors only" in their system. Also with 51K miles on it it is valued at $17K. Not bad.

I thought the "classic/collectors only" thing was cool though....
Just thought I shared

I remember there was a topic on wether the R will be a classic years from now, I guess some people think it already is. Maybe because of how they are stolen and stripped the numbers have gone down.

This is for the homeys that aren't here

As good as the ITR is, I wonder how much of the potential the average ITR owner is capable of extracting from the vehicle.

ITR EXPO recaps always seem to point out a few as good drivers, but what about the rest of you? Get with the program!

Reid - who will make it up to an EXPO... someday

EDIT: forgot a word

Does this mean we can get the "collector's car" special plates from the DMV?

I suppose Im not the only one that shakes his head when people buy an ITR, and their 1st question is what suspension, etc. to buy.

I saw that too. Before I sold my last 98' ITR I checked the book value and sure enough, it was considered a "Classic/Collector car.

When I think of classic cars, I think of my uncles 57' Chevy convertible or my friends 61' Impala SS 409. I don't think an ITR belongs in this Genre "classic."

A true ITR classic would be a 97' or 98' CW ITR left completely stock with one owner who has the original sticker price and a brochure. As time goes by, these cars will become rarer and rarer.
As much as I like the JDM look, I would never do that to my ITR. It does nothing for the car except lower the value.

It and all Rs for that matter are destined to become classics because of the number produced and the fact that way too many are stolen or wrecked. Take care of your car.
