Default ALL MOTOR?? SLEEVES or NO SLEEVES

okay so me and my roommate had a conversation about all motor...

to build a full all motor (lets say a full toda build up)

toda crank
toda rods
toda pistons/rings
toda valves
toda valve springs and retainers
toda high power vtec cams
toda cams
toda valve guides
toda high stopper metal head gasket
toda throttle body
toda headers
toda timing belt

for instance...my motor has darton sleeves already at 84mm, decked 2.0, head has 3 angle valve jo, pnp on intake and exhaust

im just wondering if some people do sleeves their all motor or not...would you do just in case or not???better for the long run too or not?? so if you guys and girls can help me out...it'll be great...thanks

if you were going all out all motor why wouldnt you put sleeves in it, no one with a serious race motor runs 81mm bore, thats why people sleeve it not for the "protection" cause if you think about it and somthing happens where you break a rod the cylinder wall is expletiveed no matter what sleeve is in there, with all motor you have no boost no nitrous and the only way to gain a little of what they have is bigger cylinders, as they say there is no replacement for displacement unless you have a turbo haha but all motor hince the name does not.... SLEEVE IT.

for an all out build i'd say to sleeve it for sure. but the B20Vtec stock sleeve with the RS / Sparks pistons make some really good power. and they are already 84 bore.

Whatever the case, all those parts would cost a ridiculous amount for (probably) a gain that will not justify the cost.

he's just buying expensive version of the parts most people upgrade anyway, stroker kit, cams, headgasket, itb's, header etc...

lol u forgot to realize.. the toda high power cams are used when in vtec.. so for pre vtec u need the toda cams.. lol!!

true, people sleeve most of the time for the fact that the bigger bore is too much for stock sleeves in most n/a cases,

def this build when done.. will just be as strong as ur typical 2.0 with skunk2's , or other brands..
but def makes the line-up/rollcall list of mods look sweet "TODArized" ahaha

Exactly, that's what I meant. He can get the same for less.

sorry, i meant toda camshafts and cam gears...

i know that toda is more of the expensive stuff to get...but...weksos gave me a deal on parts...valves,valve guides, dual valves and retainers only for 650..shipped
toda specs c's are only 850 shipped...i think the head is only gonna be toda...for that reason cuz, im not sure if they'll do the custom pistons for me so ill probably go with the 84mm 13.1 comp. wiesco pistons...eagle rods...the other options was that...but thanks guys for the input on the sleeves...me and my roommate we talkin about this coming back from Chicago...thats why...i figured on the safe side...sleeves would do the work...thanks...
