Help please, my prelude is having problems
Tonight after getting off the freeway my car started making a rattling noise whenever i accelerated mostly in the lower rpms and in the lower gears
It sounds like a rattle of some sort and I have no clue what it is. I hope its nothing serious
I wasn't going too fast on the freeway like 90 at the most. When i downshift it sounds the worst. Also my oil light started flickering so i put a quart in which turned it off but the rattle is still there
Help me out please

What have you done to the car? If you modified the exhaust it could be a heat shield. Or maybe the lower header mounting bracket could have snapped.
1. When that oil light comes on, its usally a last goodbye your car says to you.
2. When the light comes on 1 qt of oil will not be right ammount of oil
3. The rattle sound could be anything at all, you need to actually get in there and give us a more general direction to where the noise is coming from.

No its a stock exhaust and I'm going to look under the car today see if i can see anything just right there

1. well that sucks
2. i know i just did it to hold it off for a day or two until i can be assured what the problem is
3. When Im driving it sounds like its coming from the left front side of the car and it sort of sounds like when you roll your tongue but it goes away at higher speeds.
Thanks for your inputs

most likely you busted your cat... get a rubber mallet and hit your cat.. dont try to smash the hell outta it.. just hit it and if you hear rattling you just broke it.. not that big of a deal.. but you wont pass emissions

Hmm never thought about that, I'll check it out tomorrow
I don't understand why my oil light flickers though. My friend who is a mechanic said my oil filter might be loose and the rattling could be solved by a oil change with some ATF(automatic transmission fluid) can clean up the engine and run that for 500 miles and see what happens
Im going to try that also at the moment i guess
Thanks for the input
Any more ideas?

Make sure when you hit your exhaust, use a RUBBER mallet please!.
As acid also said, if your oil light is on your WAAAAAAAY below the 1 quart your dipstick measures. Check your actual dipstick on level ground. Make sure your car has sat for atleast a half hour depending on how clean/runny your oil is, so your oil settles. Than measure how much oil you have. The displacement on the dipstick should be 1 quart of oil (If I remember correctly (I use litres in canada so converting to quarts I don't do)). So If at bottom hole (you see oil in hole but not much furthur up, than add a bit less than a quart.
Your Oil light only comes on when your motor is ready to starve its self of oil. You see that light, you stop your car ASAP, let it sit for half hour, and measure your oil, and add accordingly.

He wants to put automatic transmission fluid in your Motor?,, I've never heard of that before?

lol.. i didnt even notice you said your oil light was on.. and yea.. it usually means your low... BUT!!! it can be other things.. considering i almost ran out of oil completely and never saw that light on.... but i would start with checking to see if you have a leak.. and how is the car running? is it sluggish? if it is then you should check your plugs/wires.. if they're covered in oil chances are you have a bad valve cover gasket leak.. easy to fix though
The oil thing is what got me worried. I've had my oil light come on twice during owning this car before this and everything its a flashing like the way your turn signal flashes.
However this time it was a flicker, like really fast and it would flicker when i come to a stop while driving when i start moving again it would stop...
