Default VEGAS!?

just got a phone call from corperate inviting me to interview for a position in vegas.
is anyone located at or around there?
if i get it, should i bring the R or leave it in storage here in OHIO. (are there any real opportunities to drive it out there?or will i just be worrying about it)
are there any tuner shops around people trust?
anyone wanna be my friend?
closest skii resort?
nevada emissions/auto laws strict? i have been spoiled here.

I have a few friends who live in Vegas and when I go out there to visit they allways tell me leave the R at home.

Seems they have serious theft issues.

My friend lives in Vegas and he says Law Enforcement doesn't care much about modified cars since they have better **** to worry about in the Sin City. I don't know if that helped.... but he hasn't told me anything about thieves.

Really the only trusted tuning shop here in vegas is a LDL, other then that i dont trust anybody. As for the laws out here, police dont care about cars unless your doing something stupid, They dont care about being to low, or being modified in anyway. And there are a few ski resorts close by. But on a down side car theft is really high here in vegas.

Jjun told me he had his toolbox stolen from his garage, I forgot if he said he was home or not. I don't know if thats any indication of how vegas is but reguardless its a car. Why buy one if your not going to drive it. Take every precaution you can to prevent theft, and hope for the best.

i know, im just spoiled here. the only thing that gets stolen out f cars are stereo systems. and i dont have one.

thats what insurance is for but its already plenty expensive for insuring the car without insuring the modifications, and if i do start adding extra insurance it'll be insane.

I don't know if I could really trust a guy who's good portion of business comes from building stolen motors.

1: I would leave the R home, unless you can rent a house with a garage, and also maybe buy a beater daily to drive to work and such. Driving it every day and leaving it various places will get caught up with you, it will get stolen, Yoshi just got lucky.

2: You can get to Lee Canyon for skiing in about an hour or so, less depending on the weather.

I wasn't home when my toolbox got stolen, this was back when I still lived at home and my dad mowed the lawn and forgot to close the garage.

I'd say, if you can rent a house with a garage and be able to keep an eye on it during the day you'll be fine.

What kind of field do you work in? What company?

Edit: Oh and you don't have to wory about laws/emissions here too much at all.

I work for fedex kinkos.
they have a signs and graphics flagship(strictly production) that they were interested in having me manage. I may be able to swing a home with a garage.
I have a CRV for a daily its a tank. Im thinking i NEED a garage, because i refuse to pay anyone to fix either cars. they pay to relocate me, so i may throw that in the mix.

so i think the cat is taking a dump on the CRV and i was just going to gut it and put in the o2 spacers because we have no emissions laws here. do i have to at least passs a visual to get registered there?

I had to get my cars visually inspected at the dmv when i moved here from cali to get them registered. They just checked the vins on my old registration and on my papers to make sure they matched, nothing to in depth.

Then for sure bring it! Most houses you'll find for rent here at least have 2 car garages. Can easily find them between $1000-$1300. Just drive the R when you get the itch and the CRV for everything else and you'll be alright.

And the R for Spring Mountain Speed Ventures when Tom and I go.

...and yes, you've been very lucky. From now on if you do that, throw valet a 20 and tell them you want to park it yourself right there in the front and for them not to touch it.
