d15b1 mini-me...
i have a 88 std civic with a 4-speed d15b1 dpfi and obd-0 of course. well ive been reading up on the mini me swap and i came across a guy with a good deal on a complete d16z6 head swap. but i noticed they never mentioned the b1 on if its possible to do it on this engine so i was wondering if i can do it on my civic? i no im going to probably have to go obd-0 to obd-1 and mpfi but does the mpfi come on the z6 head or no, any help on this is appreciated, thanks.
You will have to do the MPFI conversion wiring yourself. You will also need to do the dizzy plug conversion either way you go (OBD0-1) There are plenty of write-ups around. Just search it. You can use the B1 block for the mini-me. I see it's an 88 which mean the mileage may be very high. If you're engine isn't in good mechanical condition (smokes, constantly adding oil, etc.) I wouldn't do the mini-me especially if this is the only car you have. You don't have to go to OBD1 but its the best way. If staying OBD0, you need the Si ecu and some sort of trigger for vtec to engage; OBD1, you'll need the P06 and do one wire vtec or the P28 ecu. If you decide not to go this route, do MPFI, Si ecu, Si 5-speed tranny and drop in an A6 cam with Y7/8 cam gear. This would give you a fun cheap car.
Correct me if need be!

Being I DID THIS EXACT thing to my car before any of my many swaps.
I ran around 500 miles till I swapped, and all 500 of them were hard lived, pulled the motor *for a swap* sold it to a member of this forum who used it for 2 years.
