Default Vtec oil pres. sensor wiring

Im doing a JDM H22A swap into my 5th gen accord. Now im almost all done with the wiring but my h22 harness didnt come with a pigtail for the vtec oil pressure sensor. I have all my information gatherd for this swap, but in the write-ups in using only refrence the wiring by color code.

My question is,

If im using an extra pig tail (coolant temp, two wires, green, same as the vtec pres. swtc) which wire (the top or bottom wire with the clip on top) gets grounded and which one is sent to the ecu? Ive searched through all the old archived threads and couldnt find anything..

thanks

Eric

Look in the Prelude FAQ's under Electrical

There is a ''How to WIre Vtec'' And ''H22 Pinout''

are you referring to the pressure switch located on the vtec solenoid? if so....

turn the ignition "on" and check the voltage of both wire with a multimeter using a body ground. One of them should show battery voltage. That will be your ground and that wire goes to terminal 1 on the switch.

I know how to wire vtec (ive done a ls/vtec before) and i have a pinout guide printed with all my other info. But im not using a vtec OPS pig tail. Im using an extra coolant temp sensor pig tail. (diffrent color coded wires..).

What is a body ground? Is that when you have the multi set at 12v, and you put the black probe on a ground and the red probe on the wire? And one wire will show approx. 12v and the other wont, correct? And i have to ground the one wire showing 12volts and the one not showing any voltage gets sent to the ecu correct?

Thanks guys!

The help is greatly appreciated

any ground on the chassis of the car. Basically anything that is bolted to the frame. and yes, one will show battery voltage and one will not. Facing the back of the connector, terminal 1 is on the left.

Hmm, i understand what your getting at but in wondering which wire on the pigtail on the vtec pressure switch goes to a ground an which one goes to the ecu.

Im using an extra pigtail from a coolant temp sensor from my h22 harness. The wires are diffrent colors than the wires on the original pressure switch pigtail. So im just wondering which color wire is on top and which is on the botton of the pigtail, when the plug is plugged into the vtec pressure switch with the clip facing upward.

I dont have the original vtec oil pressure sensor pigtail, so i wouldnt know if the light blue wire in the original pigtail is on the top or the bottom of it.

In other words, which pin on the sensor it self would need to be sent to the ecu or gets grounded. If thats easier to make sense..

Thanks!

Eric

dont quote me, but i dont think it matters as long as 1 is grounded and 1 goes to the ecu. they are only keyed like that so u cant put the wrong kind of sensor plug there.
