12" L5 - $249.99 ea.
600w RMS
2 10" CompVR - $119.99 ea.
2(300w RMS)
Assuming both have the same width surrounds @ .5 in. :
1 12"
A = (12 - 1)(12-1)
A = 121 in^2
2 10"
A = 2 * (4.5^2)(pi)
A = 127.2 in^2
and both would most likely be in a sealed enclosure close to the minimum recommended size.
Hard part for me to decide is that i already have a 2-10" box which is exactly the right size and i would have to build a new box for the L5 and when its all said and done will probably cost me about $ 50 more.
Has anyone ever compared these two combos off the same amp(mine will be a 720 x 1 @ 4 ohm w/ a 1 farad cap)?
Is it worth the weekend of building and $50 to have the coolness of 1 square sub and its possibly better sound and spl capability?
Im still debating, i just wanted to know what you guys think.
Thanks
