Default typr r or gsr

I was reading up on some of the threads you guys had about whether to go type r or gsr. Correct me if I'm wrong, what I got from it was that if you want to a daily driver with some mods (i/h/e) go for the type r but if you wanted to build one of these engines for more then 300hp, go gsr. I would like to know why gsr's seem to be the better engine to get more power out of. And I know type r's are built for high compression, if you wanted to boost it couldnt you just put low compression pistons in it?

Yes, but that counter acts most of the reason why you chose the ITR motor in the first place.

Well also, lets take a look at some combos...

B20/Vtec <~~ Well known swap, puts out decent numbers...
LS/Vtec <~~ Also well known and proven to put out some pretty nice numbers...

IMO, if im gonna spend all that money on a B series to go fast, why not try to reach ur max capacity within ur build... You can get an LS or B20 longblock for under $500 bucks around here... Any B series Vtec head for about $100-$200 bucks... Now you gotta take into consideration all necessary parts needed to function with the combo you're doing, but I mean the power numbers stand out a lot more than a base motor built alone... My homeboy traded his poor mans ITR setup for a b20 block and gsr head & tranny... A lot of people kinda laughed at him for it ya kno, talkin lil **** w/e... Well ok, he's done building that beast now and that lil hatch is runnin on any gsr or itr it faces it seems like, and from what i've seen an what he says, he's still under 2500 bucks...

So honestly, if ur gonna spend 4500 on an ITR swap ill be the first to stand in line and call you and idiot if your purchasing it for power reasoning and not just a replacement motor for ur actual Integra Type R car...

The amount of **** you can do is endless, but I mean I just dont understand why doesn't everyone build on a budget, make equal or better numbers, and still have money in ur pocket...?? I guess we're just all rich now an days because our labor market is just flooded with high paying jobs for entry level people huh... Not quite...

Hope you got some useful info outta that...

You're beating a dead horse. This topic has been covered thousands of times.

Reported. I'm sick of seeing 10 of these a day. I know it's useless to tell you to search because you'll get all defensive and try and separate yourself from the norm and attempt to give me a reason as to why you're different and that I should answer your question.

So in light of that I'm going to follow the rules and provide you with a link to a helpful engine decision making thread and also our rules.

but that requires people to READ and PAY ATTENTION which they never will so this stuff is gonna be covered NUMEROUS times daily even hourly possibly... We're gonna be beating a lot of dead animals until the HT server is no more functionable...

go with the single vtec turbo they're reliable, cheap, and easy to build.. also you can put great numbers with half the price of a, letsay... gsr..

Threads like these is why i barely post in the 91-00 forum. The first hundred threads like this i actually tried to be helpful. It just gets old, but i do agree with both JDM_SOHC and ek_forever_guy...putting low comp. pistons in a type R motor is stupid. Read the stickies and on honda-tech in general. This site has a ton of info on it...no one seems to use it though except a few.

Haha agreed. I think alot of people don't find answers because they only search using the "recent threads" feature. It would help if EVERYONE READ A LITTLE, AND CLICKED ON THE "ARCHIVED THREAD" BUTTON. I'm sure you will find that your thread has been covered multiple times
