Default question: 96 civic dx hatchback stereo relocation

hey guys i have a question....if i want to relocate my deck from the normal spot to the bottom by the cup holders what do i need to do? do i just buy a normal aftermarket deck kit like from a car toys and install it down there or is it a special one?

also if i want to but the honda din eliminator in place of the the radio how does that work? does it just clip in? how does it stay in there?

thanks

i work at a Circuit City...for the radio relocation...as long as it has the right pocket...just buy any after market radio...it comes with a radio cage that slides right in and u press all the tabs down...the OEM radio harness is long enough to reach...for the block off plate...it should just clip right in

For the deck relocation, any cage that comes with the head unit will work. You wont need a deck kit. You will have to use 2 screw on the sides of the cage. The deck will have like a 1/2" gap around the sides because the original space is a lil too big. I used some black foam with 3m tape(not really sure what to call it) on the back to fill in the space. Looks ok to me.

The factory harness will reach down below. I used an adapter kit so I didnt have to hack up the factory wiring.

If i had a camera I'd show you mine. If you have ever installed a deck you shouldnt have any problems.

seen it in a issue of honda tuning recently, looked cool. my stock cd player works for a few then stops so i was thinkign about getting an aftermarket cd player if i could find one cheap and keep the stock on top for the theives, just keep the cup holder up and it would never be seen. if i do it before this guy i'll post pics.
