1994 jdm h22 swap in my 2000
so i recentley purchased a 1994 jdm h22 to swap with my 2000 usdm. i am about to lift mine out and drop the new in but before i do that i wanted to see if any of yall have done this swap or know of any possible problems i might encounter along the way. i am using my wiring harness that i have now and have a p28 ob1 ecu with the ob2 to obd1 conversion harness. and i will be using the tranny from the 2000. so far all i have heard is i may have some wiring issues with my oil pump and distributor but i am researching that as you read this.

So you purchased a 94 motor to put into a 00 chasis. Depending on what state you are in thats illegal.
You have a p28? Are you going to be tuning with it, the JDM h22 is compatiable with the p13.
The Dizzy on the JDM motors has an internal coil. USDM has an external coil. You have an External Coil Dizzy on you OBD2 lude right now. But since you are going to be converting you need an OBD1 coil if Im corrrect. You might be able to change up the OBD2 Dizzy through the Wiring harness, but I dont know for sure.
Your fuel rail will need to be swapped as well, JDM Rails are backwards.
AS long as you did basic replacement on parts, IE Water pump, gaskets, etc. It should be fine.

Im actually helping this guy do this swap. After searching on HT and all over the net for the best way to do this I came to my on conclusion. Seems like everyone that used the jdm internal coil distributor (obd1) on a 5g prelude hated it. Everyone is saying to just replace the oil pump, use the 5g ckp/tdc sensors, and use the timingbelt gear and balance shaft gear from the 5g prelude. But a side note on the h22a oilpump is that IIRC you cannot use the 2000' prelude oil pump because the OBD1 jdm h22 has to use the 96-97' Oil pump. 98-01 is different part number. Also Im 99.9999% sure you do not have to replace the waterpump. (only if you thought your pre-exsisting one on the obd1 jdm h22 was bad, then maybe).
-- I will be using a 97' oil pump, 00' ckp/tdc sensors, 00' model timing belt gear, and a 00' balance shaft gear. Also a 00' Lower Timing belt cover. OBD2 5g 00' Prelude Intake manifold with rail and Throttle body. OBD2 5g 00' Distributor with external Coil. OBD2 5g 00' intermediate shaft/Axles. etc..
should be fine
