Default converted p06 problem.

just got this ecu , It's a converted p06 w/ chip. I hooked it up and started the car. The car ran for like 20 seconds, then shut down. So I goto check some codes, and the code comes up on my srs light instead of the check engine light like it did before with the p13 I was using. It flashed an 11, so i goto look up that code and every list i look at doesn't have an 11. I Know how to check codes, so now I'm worried. Could the base map on the chip be wrong. Oh almost forgot I'm running an h22a in my 99 civic hx.

What basemap are you running on that ECU?

Are you sure its converted to run DOHC and VTEC??

I would check to make sure you've got the right setup on your ecu.

It came with 5 chips with different programs Mugen, jun, all that ****. I put the ecu in my friends car, and it worked fine. He runs a b16.

went out and bought one of those moates chip burners and burned a chip for my setup.

And now the msd box is bad, just my luck.

Would u happen to know anything bout tuning with crome?

I would figure out why the MSD box went bad to see if maybe the program had something to do with it.

I know a bit about tuning with crome, but if you have no idea about it, I suggest you let an experienced tuner do the work for you the first time around.

the chips that came with your ECU are crap.
unless you're pushing >400 hp the stock ignition is more than enough. no need for the MSD setup.

tuning with Crome is easy, take some time, go over to http://forum.pgmfi.org/index.php and read the stickies twice. There is a ton of info there.
Any questions ask here, im me or ask on pgmfi.org (after searching of course)

yeah pgmfi is very helpful, waiting for my emulator to get here so I can get started.

I did how ever burn a basemap chip, all seems to be fine exept for my idle jumping up and down.

On crome they have the advanced idle controls, It shows cold idle cut 1221 cold idle resume 920, warm idle cut and so on.

If I even out the values will that stop the engine from jumpin up and down like that?

doubtful, those settings are mainly to keep the engine from dieing if you are at higher revs and push in the clutch and let the engine go to idle. So it "catches" the revs and idles it down before it dies.
reving up and down at idle is a sign that the IACV is bad/filthy/stuck
