Default Acura 2.2 Cl HELP PLEASE!!!

New to this!!! I have a 97 2.2 Acura CL that is giving me problems. Just recently I was driving from Tallahassee to Jacksonville FL. which is two hours away. I was doing around 75- 85 mph. When I reached JAcksonville getting off on the ramp the engine shut off. Crunk it back up idle then shut off. Took it to Acura they didn't know wuz up. Replaced fuel filter and main relay still shut off!!! I NEED HELP I'm a college student need this car to run right. THANKS!!!

Shitty, this is what happened to me.

Have Acura look at the ignition switch (electrical portion).

Should be a $40 part.

Nope, fuel pump is probably fine.

If you keep trying to start it and it turns over, but immediately cuts off, check out the ignition switch.

And it *may* have been recalled on 97 + accords/cl's as they use the same one.

two secs i'll get the picture

I believe the part number is:

W0133-1623314 the name is steering switch



It's #12 in that diagram.

Worth for them to look at it at least.

Hopefully that's my car's problem.

Yep worth having them check it out.

My car randomly shut off while driving.

Wouldn't start back up. Well would start, but immediately die.

If you have the car with you, try holding the key between 2/3 positions and see if it stays on.

it only cuts off when i'm getting off the highway when i'm pushing it. When i'm riding on the highway its fine!!! What can cause it to have a hard start in the morning?

AHHHH, I misunderstood your post then.

It probably isn't the ignition switch.
