knocking from rear suspension??
when i originally put on my skunk2 lowering springs w/ the stock shocks from my 98 EJ6, it made a loud clunking/ knocking sound from my rear suspension only. i figured it was just because the spring weren't seating in the upper mount right because of the stock shocks. so i then bought some skunk2 sport shocks to go with my skunk2 springs, thinking that it would solve the problem.
Unfortunately it did not help, i still have the clunking/knocking coming from my rear suspension. so what else could it be?

Do you have a rear sway bar?
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?
Are all the bushings in the rear suspension tight with no play? Are the rear trailing arm bushings rotten?

Make sure that you assembled the upper mounts correctly with all necessary hardware, and that the bushings are not deformed.

I also have skunk 2 coilovers but with kyb agx. My rear also makes noise when goin over small short bumps. I have looked at every bushing and recently replaced the trailing arm bushings. It still makes noise the only thing i can figure out is that the spring and the lower lock collar is causing noise. When i raise the vechile up with a jack the spring is not in contact with the lower lock rings.

I had the same noise you are describing....wound up being rear trailing arm bushings. I though it was a blown shock originally but after pulling it apart to have a look I found the problem with the bushings. All quiet now....
