Default Turbo Quest

I want to turbo my newly aquired D16z6 and some one mentioned build my own instead of a kit. Anyone got a list of turbo's that would be rather easy to mix and match for this gem.

look in junk yards for any eclips turbos. they are close enough in comparison for a d16 to give you decent boost and power numbers. you'll have to custom an exhaust header and some piping but that depends on how bad you want it done. good luck either way!

just save up and buy a decent kit..you're looking upwards of like $2500-$3000 but it's worth it instead of piecing together a JUNK-yard setup.

My work has everything I'd need to make the exhaust. So that wouldn't be a problem. but a kit does sound a lot better. Do they sell kits that just have the turbo and such, so I could buy a header and pipe my own intercooler.

noo, they sell complete kits that include turbo, intercooler, turbo manifold, all the piping, blow off valve, oil return lines, etc etc. you would just need to buy a better fuel pump, bigger fuel injectors, umm...you'll want around a 3" exhaust..ummm...like i said, there is a lot you should be searching for so you can read and learn EXACTLY what it is you need...there countless threads of this exact same question and answer...just gotta search for it
