Default Brembo GT kit

I think the S is somewhat lacking in the brake department and well,
I really want some brakes to fill out my wheels.....

I have stock AP2v1 on my AP1

I am doing initial research right now, this would come in the summer.

Will the GT kit fit my wheels? Will spaces be necessary? Does anyone have them with pictures? What are other kits on the market that would be worth looking into? What are the drawbacks off increasing brake size besides being reclassed in competitions?

the S is NOT lacking in the braking dept. something is wrong with you or your car. bleed lines, new fluid.

TRUST ME.

They just don't seem to have the bite.....

I'll check the pads and fluid tomorrow.

are you tracking it or just regular driving. If you are going to track it then just change to some drilled rotors, your calipers should be fine.

Brembos come stock on my car.....
Make the switch if you want Brembos...

BTW Brake Kits rarely due anything because of how the brake system was setup stock.
Rotors, pads, and a fluid swap would show you more improvement than most kits out there...

Everyone is missing one key ingredient. The BRAKE LINES!!! Rubber brake lines expand with heat, so the longer you're out there and the more you're braking the hotter it'll get, and the less effective it'll become as you drive. An upgrade to stainless steel ones will do a world of wonders.

BBK's are not a sure thing in shortening braking distance. It has been shown that at times, BBK's actually have a longer braking distance than the stock setup. They take longer to heat up to optimum temperature for daily driving. However, they are better at releasing heat, and keeping the brake system 'cooler'.

And I'm against drilled rotors. They are mainly for show. Yes they dissipate heat a 'little' better, but they are also prone to cracking under harsh conditions.

As for slotted rotors, be careful as to which ones. The more slots, the less surface area.

sounds like your fluid is toast... an easier way to check is to look at your pads... if theres meat left on them, the fluid is most likely the problem... when was the last time u changed the fluid?

You can also just check the little fluid reservoir in the engine bay. If it's dirty, it's time for a change.

I think he wants them for the bling. The brakes on our cars are more than enough. Like someone said though, if you track the car, maybe upgrade to drilled rotors and high performance pads. But I run all oem brake rotors and pads, and they work just fine at autocross.

I don't officially track the car, but there is a exit ramp freeway clover that I've been playing around on. I think I should look into changing the fluid, and upgrading the brake lines then go from there.

whats your deal with wasting money... you dont need to upgrade the brake lines... just change the fluid and possibly the pads if there running low... thats it... leave well enough alone... spend your money on some mods that will actually make your car perform better...

You're not officially or unofficially tracking your car. All you're doing is exactly what you said--playing around.

If you want more bite, then change the pads and check/change the fluid. X-drilled or slotted rotors won't do jack except make your wallet lighter.

umm no. The S2000 doesn't need drilled rotors. Drilled rotors dissipate heat, but reduce braking area...which makes them more hot again. It's an excersize in futility.

The S2000 just needs good pads for the track. I was utterly amazed at the performance of the stock pads for the track....but I brake late...REAAAAL late. So I needed race pads for race days. I switch them back and forth. No compromises FTW.

The S2000 is definately not lacking in the brake department. That's like claiming that I'm lacking in the **** department. If you think that, then you obvioulsy haven't seen my ****.

Where/how are you driving that your brakes are inadequate? What kind of pads are you using? Done a fluid flush and refill? Brake lines in good shape? Glazed rotors? What the deal is?

The BREMBO kit is over kill. $3K for freaking brakes that you're never going to use? Cmon now. The stock brakes are fine....I'd maybe do some spoon calipers later on because they look reaaaaal nice...and they keep the stock pads, and have low service intervals (like stock).

G35 drivers were complaining about the INSANE costs of brake jobs with their brembos. F that.

Not a huge fan of the hawk HPS. Too much dust for the performance, IMO.

The EBC red stuffs should give about the same performance...but with a lot less dust.

Looking good is more important that function.

Get the brembos...be sure to take out a loan to buy them as well.

Are you saying S2000 owners can't afford them?

I don't have an S2K but on my Teg i run Axxis ultimates, ss lines and Motul RBF 600. And holy **** what a difference in braking performance. To bad my damn master cylinder is dying on me. Stop like a motherF*****. I can get the brakes to smoke like crazy with spirited canyon runs.
