Default A couple of questions.

1) I have a 99 Civic EX. It has an ACT stage 2 clutch / streetlite (12.8lb) flywheel from when I was boosted. The car is now daily driven and no longer boosted. The problem is when i'm in 1st and rev it and let out the clutch (to get into gear), it jutters very hard (I can feel the whole car shake). It's almost a feeling of when you stall the car mixed with hitting a hard bump in the road. I've driven manual cars for years now and am giving it plenty of gas to get into gear, so it's not being choked. I have to rev almost to 2,200rpm to get a "clean" start. I know that one of my motor mounts is shot (the driver lower) so is that the problem or what else could it be? It idles just fine (smooth) at about 700rpm. Any ideas?

2) For a daily car are steel braided brake lines worth it? I have ITR calipers upfront (11.1") and ep3 calipers in the rear (10.2"). I also have a 1" MC and si prop valve, so is it worth the $100?

3) What's a good clearcoat to use (in a can)?

4) Any recommendations on a good replacement 02 sensor? Or a place to buy them for cheap?

Thanks

1. sounds like usual clutch chatter. this is usually caused but the springs on the clutch working them selves loose over time.

2. imo waste of money

3. that stuff at advance auto works good for me.

4. sorry i got nothin on that.

eh, I actually work at a Honda dealer and even at my cost it's still more than I'd like to spend. No aftermarket ones that you guys recommend?

Any help on the other questions?

Lucky for me I have no more 02 sensor worries... Matter a fact, i have no 02 sensor at all...

I <3 Bo0st..!!

No for u since u ditched the boost setup lol... j/k im sure u had ur reasons, but yeah dude spend the little bit extra for a legit 02 sensor... Or do like i did, an get lucky at a junkyard finding a legit workin one... And for $5 bucks at that lol...

SS brake lines = waste of cash IMO... I had russell lines an i noticed no difference in pressure or anything from rubber lines... I'm also runnin 15/16" "larger MC, not as big as urs but 1 step down" with 4040 prop valve an front & rear disc's off teggy... Rubber lines work just as well for me anyways..

Although ur right B16B, that link is very helpful an offers a lot of knowledge on why to getm, i still personally think SS lines are for auto-x'ers an ****.. I mean the lines come stock from the factory as rubber, an by law they can't put anything on the car in which they think or something that proves to be defective... And if ur just cruisin around town an all that an not really doin any races an all that ****, its really a waste of like 70 bucks if u think about... But to each his own i guess..

I understand what you mean, But who puts itr brakes and ep3 brakes on there car and dont take it to the track? That imo is a waste of money

Daily driven=stock brake lines
Auto-x/road racing=bigger brakes,lines,fluid

Yeah, and I don't auto-x. It's just daily driven with SOME spirited driving. I have a boosted b16 waiting to go in, so I guess I was just hesistant about that amount of power vs. stopping power, but I guess ss lines won't make much a difference anyhow.

That's why I orginally trying to sell my ep3 rear setup though, because I was like ep3 rear brakes on a daily driven car? Not worth it. But I couldn't sell them, so I'll just leave the ep3 rear and make up the $100 (that I could've made) by selling the SS lines.

IMO, ep3 rear brakes > ss lines.
