Default About the thermal fan switch

I have a 1990 civic dx hatch with a sohc zc swap... I had a bad radiator that leaked. I replaced my radiator after I started havin over-heating problems from my coolant leakin out real quick. After that I didnt have any problems. One night I was sittin in heavy traffic when I noticed I was over-heating. I checked it out and come to find out my fan doesnt turn on. I applied 12 volts to the fan and it worked. Problem is I cant find the thermal switch, I looked in my Haynes Manual and it shows that it is located on the radiator but I dont have one on mine. Is it somewhere else???

Yeah I got fooled by that too. I still don't know exactly for D-series. But check next to your thermostat housing. If it's there it should be a round brown plastic plastic piece. I don't think thermoswitches are compatible between ef's and later models. I'm still researching . I have mine grounded to the frame and hot wired to a switch on the console real stealth-like. Now it comes on when I command!

Its under the intake manifold in the back of the block, located between number 2 and number 3 cylinders. You will notice a small rubber cover over it. It has two wires and will be green and brass colored.

here is one on ebay:
