03 ep3-t turbo timer and immobilizer
Ok so i have an o3 turbo ep3 and the problem i have is that i can't use a turbo timer since i have an immobilizer. I can turn it off in kpro but wont that make it easier to steal? My car alarm have a built in turbo timer so i could use that but i still want to use my immobilizer. any one else have this problem?
The turbo timer in your alarm won't work, unless you have remote start installed.
As far as I know, the immobilizer only checks for the transponder in the key when the vehicle attempts to start.
Therefore, you can hook a turbo timer up no problem. I installed one on my brother-in-law's Evo, and he's able to use it every time he shuts the car off. Evo's also have transponder based keys.

I bought the Greddy full auto for like $80 through YoParts.. Was a nightmare to get the thing (took like 3 weeks) but was a good price.
All turbo timers are pretty much the same. Some have smart timers that calculate how long to leave the car running based on how hard you drove, and some have other bells & whistles.
I didn't need any of that crap, so I bought a basic Greddy.
