so confused about HID kits
I've come to realize that most of the HID kits are made from only a few main manafacturers.
However, which one is the most reputable and has the best support.
The prices have dropped greatly from the past two years.
I've seen Mod Express, Xenith Xenon, and 3BSpec.
Help =!

plug-n-play (PnP) kits aren't that great... a lot of times the ballasts go bad, and the HID capsules (bulbs) go bad much more quickly than normal. on top of that, you halogen headlight housing isn't designed for HIDs, usually causing a lot of glare and "hot spots" in your beam pattern.
you should maybe consider doing a retrofit (oem HID projector/reflector setup into your headlight housing) it'll be MUCH better quality over any PnP kit.

I understand that halogen housings dont work well with HID and forgot to mention that was a given. However, I have been seeing TSX projector retrofits. Ive never seen any write up on an EG coupe. I have seen them on the 96-00 civics however.
I love OEM mainly because if any parts go bad, I can always order it.
But I do like the lifetime warranty offered by the other companies and for the price compared to the overpriced OEM parts on sale here, the PNP kits are very attractive.

in my sig, i have a write-up with TT projectors... but it'll be similar to other single-xenon hid projectors (like the tsx). of course, i retrofitted into an aftermarket halogen projector headlight housing. (it was just easier that way).

all retrofits are done pretty much the same way. It's just a matter of what projectors you're wanting to use and how much work you're wanting to put toward the retrofits
i'll probably order from 3BSpec.com bc of the warrenty, the convenience of pnp with conversion harness which is a plus, from what i've read great customer service, and there website is user friendly too. i havent heard anything else about the other 2 but i'll definitely look into it. it may sound like im endorsing them but its my honest opinion
**edit**
i looked into the other websites and they seem reputable, the prices are about the same to so its really up to you.
