Default RHD Accords?

Does anyone have a RHD Accord in the USA? Is it possible to bring one over from Japan?

I <3 Honda's, but I'm more into Accord's than other types of Honda's...

That's how I roll

1) Most of what you are going to see is going to be RHD converted US cars. But as for real RHD Accords, there may be a few.

2) Yes, you can import them into the US. Certain years can be brought in through a loop hole basically only requiring swapping the headlights, cluster and making sure it has DOT tires then getting it inspected. You would have to go through an importer and it's a lengthy process.

would you care to describe that process in detail TA, i've been outside the U.S. and seen some rhd 5th gen accords, SiR's and SiR-T's. and i'd like to know the process of getting it shipped in somewhere like Cali or Florida.

I'm not familiar with the exact process or details. You would want to contact an importer and discuss it further with them. I know there is a lot involved and it's a lengthy process to be prepared if you decide to pursue this.

This may be useful...

the thread is almost 2 years old but it may be of some use, not sure.

I also urge you to use extreme caution before getting into something like this.

To do this with a 5th gen is not going to be worth it in the end. You might get the car for a steal but your looking at anywhere between $12,000 and $20,000 to have everything swapped, removed, added, or upgraded to pass US specifications. You're talking about everything from the glass on the vehicle to emissions. But if you're seriously interested in this, like TA said, talk to an importer.

even with varying prices through different importers I really don't see a 5th gen SiR getting up to $12,000, I would say $10,000 max. For those years there is a loop hole that makes it much easier to get them here and registered. I think that loop hole even includes the 97 Euro R and SiR/SiR-T, but those would naturally pull a higher price tag. Don't quote me on any of this as I am not an importer and things may have changed since I got this info. If you are REALLY serious about this, start searching for reputable importers and start doing your research and call around, thats the best way to really know what this is going to cost and involve.

If it worth it or not is completely up to the individual looking to buy. Their love for the Accord and rarity that would come along with such a car may be worth it to some people, while it may seem completely pointless to others.
