Default Daily Driven Clutch Opinions

Hey fellas,

I was just looking for opinions on clutch choices. Going into a daily driven b18a. Pulled the motor[from a 93 integra RS] and figured while its apart, I might as well upgrade out the clutch / flywheel.

Looking primarily for something with good driveability and will last...other than OEM.

thanks for all input in advance.

Exedy stage 1 had one in my daily driver noticably more bite but still just as smooth as oem loved it

How aggressive of a clutch would you like? I personally like using 4 puck sprung with a 3500 pound pressure plate. It's hard but seems really nice after you're use to it.

If you're looking for daily drivability, i would go with the Exedy Stage 1. There is no reason to get anything more aggressive. I have the Stage 2 in my turbo GSR and it's a nice clutch, but overkill and a half for your setup.

just want something a little better than OEM. i put alot of miles on my daily vehicle, so i don't want anything exceptionally hard. this is just a built LS motor that should be in the 190-200whp range, no need for overkill, as i see it.

but...thanks for all the input, duders! big help and the choice is seeming pretty clear.

thanks again,
-Chris

I have an Exedy OEM replacement clutch with ACT streetlite flywheel and a 0.75" bore clutch master cylinder. I am very happy with this setup. Due to the larger MC, I was able to reduce the pedal travel and now I can shift pretty fast.

I don't know about your engine, but if it doesn't make much more torque than stock, then I would suggest the OEM version over the Stage 1. I think I heard that they have the same pressure plate, but a different friction disk, so I would have thought the pedal feel would be the same, but a lot of people say the Stage 1 is stiffer. Anyway, my philosophy is "don't get more clamping force than you need". This results in a softer pedal, and you can turn that into a shorter throw pedal like I did.

I bought my clutch from ImportRP, a sponsor here on HT.
