A few questions... Wiring & Codes
I am sorting out my harness in order to run just my B16A. This is for a project and I need some help. I assume the Hazzard wire that runs to my computer (OBD0) is constant BAT+. But what does the "brake switch" do? Also my computer blinks codes but I dont see the first one listed on the net. It blinks one quick one when ignition power is first applied then pause then 6 short blinks (. . . . . . ) another pause and one long blink (_) then pause then a long blink with 5 short ones after (_ . . . . .). What does that mean? Another thing, some of the wire from the ECU to the main harness is shielded is it neccisary?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

brake switch is used when you depress the brake pedal it will send 12v to the tail lights, lighting the second filament in the bulbs causing them to become brighter.
As for the long blink and 5 short ones that code should be 15. a long blink means 10. so for instance 2 longs and 7 shorts would be 27.

Well... I know what the switch it for but I dont seem to understand why it would interface the ECU? I know the brake Lights have a constants 12V supply as do the hazzard lights. Which side of the switch is the ECU on, the constant hot side or the switched side and what is the reason? Do I need to reatain this feature?

Why is it that someone post's about trying to drive a manual and he gets responses and I ask a legit tech question and get NOTHING? Seems like this is a valid question. I could really use an answer guys.

I dont see why your brake lights would cause a problem with you ecu. your ecu does not turn your lights on and off. 12v is not coming from your ecu but from the fuse box. Take a look at your wiring diagrams in your manual. This sounds kinda corny but make some copys of the diagrams and highlight out where your 12v are coming from, your loads in the circuit, and the grounds. that might help you understand how your brakes works.
