Default 3" intake piping

im looking to get a 3" piping short ram intake for my car but i dunno where i can buy one. I know that intakes for the type r are 3" but i couldnt find any generic intakes for a type r besides the name brand intakes. Im just looking for something cheap because i plan on putting a good filter on it. An ebay intake would be fine but i couldnt find one on there. Where can i find them?

You can also build them yourself with a few hours and a little bit of knowledge. All you have to do is figure out your bends, then either go to a muffler shop and get the mandrel 3" with the bends you need or order them online. After that, find the reducing coupler 3"-2.5" for the throttle body and a filter for the end. I did that on a few of my setups including my SPoolin log manifold onto my old 60trim. Its not hard...

hmm. The reason i wanted it was because i plan on gettinga velocity stack and the velocity stack end is 3". I can just get a reducing coupler from the 3" end on the velocity stack and just put it at the end of my intake now but i thought it would just be better to get 3" piping all the way but then i forgot i will need a reducer at the tb end so maybe i should just go with the reducer at the velocity stack end and call it a day?

I would use the reducing coupler at the TB rather than at the velocity stack...its a matter or pressure difference and air velocity. I dont really know how to explain this without pictures, but maybe someone else could....

I guess thinking of a long funnel vs a short funnel and how air reacts inside each of them is about the only way i can really explain it...

samco makes a 3" intake tube similar to the itr intake arm which could be used for a velocity stack.

ok thanks. I checked out their website samcosports.com and they had small elbow type pipes, didnt really see an actual intake arm pipe. Is there a website that actually sells what your taking about? and how much does it cost?
