Default keyless entry ..wont work in 97 acord se w/ obd1 ecu???

The car is a 97 accord se w/ an h22 swap..and an auto to manual swap... when i bought the car it had no battery in the FOB just got one and tried like 3 dif procedures to reset the FOB but to no avail and some one said it might be b/c i have an obd1 ecu in an obd2 car.. can this be possible?? if not does any one have any suggestions on how to diagnose this problem..

like i said i tried the honda procedures and i got nothing.. but maybe i am missing something...

does the accord even have the oem (OPTIONAL) alarm system installed?

you have a obd1 ecu in a obd2 car, correct? i'm guessing and only guessing but for some reason i think a jumper harness would fix your problem if you don't already have one?

a jumper harness?? i dont understand what you mean... i am obviously running a jumper from obd2 to obd1

yes i am running a jumper harness ... how else can you run an obd1 ecu in an obd2 car ??

that helps me alot, being we already got to the fact that the 97 se came w/ a factory alarm. i know that b/c i own one (weird huh ).

i still dont know why it wont work..

duke, i'm simply implying that i hope you get it fixed because your car isn't garaged every night like some of us. and i would hate for you to come outside and see it laying on its belly like david's or even worse an gaping space where the cd7 used to be. your next resort is to talk to the ********* at the honda store and hopefully on a warm and cozy day they will be able to grasp the knowledge to do something other than try to jam your cotton pockets for $300.
