Make sure your cam timing is right (arrow on cam gear points up when the pointer above the crankshaft pulley points to the singular little line on the pulley itself)

i think i have the same problem...
it wont pass 5000 rpm..sounds like it doesnt want to go anymore...i have a 96 accord ex coupe
has anyone with the same model as mines exceeded 5000 rpm?? i was tryin to get higher rpm in first gear..i added a short ram intake.. and i thinks that is the only mod i did...
any suggestions?
maybe ecu??
or maybe because its kinda like the luxury version...i have all power and leather interior...

theres no codes and like that one guy said it just acts like it doesnt want to go faster but my friend has a 94 lx and his rev limiter doesnt kick in till 7000. it is possible it is a failed distibutor. i looked back in the files that came with my car and its already been replaced once but that was a long time ago and for a different prob. thanks for all the help

your friend has no idea what he is talking about then. the governor has to do with vehicle speed, not engine speed. and why should he suddenly swap to h22 because he is having a problem. Check out your timing if you know how to, if not, a repair manual will show you how. also, when you said you had no codes, do you mean that the light wasn't on? the bulbs do go bad behind the dash, so sometimes even if you have a code, you won't know until you actually check.

Oh wow. I had this problem for over a year now, and no one gave me any suggestions. Mine cuts off, like when I hit the speed governor, like the fuel just cuts off and the RPM bounces back.

I just changed my distributer cap. I should test to see if I still have the problem.

How can you tell if the timing belt is off?
What will happen if it is off by 1-2 teeth? Is this like advanced or retarding timing?

Start with getting a stock ecu and get it running with that and getting rid of the vafc, then if you does it when you hook up the vafc you know where to look.

I have a turbo f23 and my issue is my car won’t rev past 5k rpm. I’m not sure what it could be. I replaced my ecu, and vss and still didn’t do anything. My timing is right my car is straight piped so I don’t have a cat. My speedo doesn’t work but I’m thinking it’s my speedo but I’m not sure. I’m in need of some help lol. Thanks!

It would help if you mentioned what model/year car you have.

Vutha, this might help:

The video is about changing the belt, and around the 4:50 mark it shows where the alignment marks are. Hope this helps.
