fuel pump not working ...honda tech please help!!!!
(1993 Civic Ex Coupe w/ single came V only 110,xxx miles) my fuel pump doesnt prime when I turn the key to its II position.I only hear one click from my relays but i dont know which relay is the one thats clicking.. it sounds like its coming from the glove box area but when i try to start my car my CEL ( Check Engine Light) comes on and stays lit for more then 2 seconds and the light wont come off and my fuel pump doesnt whirl or prime what ever you call it , my car just cranks but wont turn over .. my friend did spark plug test and found out im not getting any kind of spark at all.. he also tested the wires thats on top of the dizzy he told me that I have power going into my distributor but no power is coming back out.. I then check all my fuses under the hood and under the dash.. i manage to find couple of blown fuses and replaced them all thinking that would solve my problem.. (that didnt work). I went out bought new distributor , my car still cranks but wont turn over. I know its not my dizzy because i sold it to a guy and he put it on his car and it started right up.. i also checked my main relay that gray looking and big like a stack of gum box thats located under the driver side near the hood release latch bolted up by a 10mm.. im getting power all around my car but no power to my fuel pump.. is there any step by step how to test your fuel pump before i go out and waste money on getting something i dont need??.. also something i didnt mention.. this all started back almost 3 months ago the car was working fine one morning i went out for a drive and came back and notice i had smoke coming out of my car i pulled over near my house opened up my hood and saw radiator fluid all over the engine and had a small crack on top of the radiator.. i waited for about hour and patch the crack with poxy glue.. when I go start the car all it does is crank and crank and more cranking... but wont turn over.. HONDA-TECH PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I THROW THIS **** OFF THE BRIDGE!
Check the wires that are going too your fuel pump, make sure there getting power/ground. You will have too pull some seats but it has to be done. Could be the actual fuel pump itself going bad too.
As for the distributor issue, u probably have your firing order wrong if your getting power too the dizzy, but none too the plugs. Make sure u find the correct order as there is alot of people who think they have the right one, but they dont. and if your fuel pump is not working, the car will not start. (or atleast run for more than 10 seconds.)

well the spark plugs is in the correct firing order which i believe is 1-3-4-2 i had a mechanic did it for me.. I have my back seat taken out already and i took the plate off thats covering the fuel pump.. i manage to take one fuel line off but the other one thats on my left hand side seems to be glued or stuck it wont come off but I still took the bolts off and pulled it just enough to see if theres gas inside the tank.. and its just about half a tank in there.. but ive been looking around searching for answers.. and came across something .. i hear that you can connect your battery directly to your fuel pump to see if it primes.. can you tell me or if you know how to do that? i have extra car batter laying around and i can take 2 wires and connect it to the battery I know the wire have to hook up to the wiring thats on the fuel pump but how do i know which wire to connect the positive and neg?
make sure timing is correct.
take a flat head screw driver and stick it on top of the injector's body and put your ears to it and try to hear if you hear a faint click when someone in the car turn key to II position. if it clicks injectors are good.
remove fuel line connected to fuel rail and have a buddy turn key to II while you put the fuel line over a bucket, see if fuel shoots out. if it shoots out, fuel pump is pumping.
take out each spark plug wire one at a time and stick a spare spark plug in and have a friend crank and see if all 4 have spark.
check to see if spark is firing at correct time, turn the lower crank to set No. 1 cylinder at TDC and open the distributor cap and see if the rotor is sending power to No. 1 cylinder. (No. 1 cylinder is the cylinder closest to your cam gears)
barrow a buddy's ecu, see if this works.
you mention you was driving and the radiator blew, well this might be rare but it could happen; if your car ran out of coolant it can overheat very quickly, if it overheats it might damage the oil pump. too low of an oil pressure might cause the car not to start. i guess try checking oil pressure.
test all that i mention above. something should pop up. 3 element to get a car start. fire, air and fuel. rule of thumb; see if you have those 3 element. next rule, see if your 3 element is going to the right destination at the right time. good luck. i'll let you know if i think of something else. keep us updated.

samething happend to my hatch and it was the ground on the thermostat housing!! so check your ground and if good just connect the pump to the battery to se if it works that what i did and it was the ground!!
can you tell me where i can find the thermostat housing?? like can you take a pic and show me where and what it looks like please ... email me at bronxteam3@gmail.com thanks
the thermostat housing is on the back of the head, there will be like 3 black tubes coming of of it, one running to youre fire wall, one running to your head on the pass. side.
The yellow wire coming from the fuel pump is the positive, and im assuming if theres a black wire thats the ground. Just run the yellow to a battery first see if that works, if still not working, run a neg. to the battery too.

Same thing happened to me. I have NO power running to the pump. I check all the wires and everything. I replaced the pump and still nothing. I have it running off a switch for now till i get it fixed. Dangerous, but its my dd.
Can you tell me how to run a switch to my fuel pump and what if I take my car battery out and connect it directly to my fuel pump? which wires im suppose to cut ? I see 4 wires.. 2 yellow 2 black.. I dont want to connect the battery on the wrong set of wires and cause a fire..but something is telling me to cut the 2 wires that are coming straight from the fuel pump.. the other set of wires is connected to some funny looking box on the side.. well i took a picture off google to show you what im talking about its the wire on the top that i think needs to be cut.
the wires in that picture, the only 2 u can see, are they both yellow? I read that the yellow is the positvie, probably both yellows are positive, then the blacks are grounds.
in the picture theres 4 wires 2 yellow and 2 black one set of wires which are 1 yellow and 1 black are running to the fuel pump , the other set of wires are running to this other thing on bottom.. but thanks for telling me the yellow is positive... now imma try to run my battery directly to the fuel pump.. hope i dont blow up
damn i just found out my freaking main relay dont work i have to of them and non seem to be working i dont hear the clickin noise at all and on top of that CEL still lit up and my fuel pump doesnt prime this is driving me more insane then i thoughttt
