Default turbo z6 4-door question.

Alright, my area is flooded with eg 4-door cars for pretty cheap. I sold my turbo ls hatch and am looking for another car that has a full interior.

Has anyone ran a turbo z6 4-door? or is the weight so much more that I should atleast run a b series?

I am shooting for about 200-230 hp from a low mileage z6. But I havent even driven a four door eg.

I can't imagine the weight difference is that substantial. Also, rather than swapping a B series, why wouldnt you build the D using a simple, yet effective Eagle/Vitara combo. That'd be my route if i still had a D series...400 whp and the build costs less than a grand

well you see. on d-series.org alot of stock engine d15b7 and d16z6 cars were making 200+- very easily and somewhat reliably. And in my hatch, 230 on a turbo ls, was pretty quick.

If i can turbo the d15b7 (if i get a low mileage one) i definately would pick up a z6 and run the vitara/eagle setup. crazy cheap

good point on building the D but to the OP are you looking to utilize a stock motor or you wanna open it up? to make 200-230whp a stock D can get the job done.

You can make 220-240whp reliably on your stock D, but if you need more, i would snag a Z6 and build the Eagle/Vitara rather than swapping a B series then boosting it. To each his own, but i thought it'd be a good option other than swapping..

x2 for what you would spend on a swap you could already have a built D, and with a little more for fuel management and such you would be good to go.

are you asking if a 4dr is too heavy? because a base model sedan is lighter that a si hatch. i am curently driving a 93 dx sedan with a jdm GSR and it hammers! a z6 turbo would make more power and more torque. i also plan on a z6 turbo for my 4dr in the future

i love driving the 4dr. theres nothing more BA than having a quick sedan

exactly, I love my sedan. A lot of people as me why a 4door it's so heavy. They weigh very close the the same as a coupe. for choosing a sedan
