Default Dimmer switch wire "Red One"

Earlier i was installing a reverse radio harness and end up with an extra wire, traced it back, ended up going to the dimmer switch and was wondering where it originally tapped into? The wire is the solid red one.

It originally was connected to your radio. Its the dimmer function that dims the radios illumination when the lights go on to not be hard on the eyes at night, same with the clock it dims when you turn the lights on.
