This is a little FYI for everyone who has thought about using the cable to hydro conversion produced my Hasport. I have seen tons of posts about them making the pedal stupid hard and stretching the clutch cable etc. Well, I bought it anyway a few months ago. It was VERY hard and even hurt the ball of my foot sometimes. Last night I changed my clutch for an LSD Motorsports 6 puck sprung and messed with the lever system for a minute while reinstalling it. I realized that after a certain point of tightening on one of the bolts, it made it difficult to move the lever up or down. So, I loosened it a little and it felt fine (by hand). Once I finished everything, and fired it up, I went to put it in gear to go for a test drive. the clutch feels like a stock clutch. Nice and soft, like there is no hydro conversion there at all.

Cliffs: Do NOT over tighten this bolt, or you will hate the conversion.

Torque is 18 ft lbs

 

on that specific bolt? My conversion didnt come with any tq specs or anything.

 

I tested it on buddy's car. I torqued to 14ft lbs came off by fingers, then so on until 18ft lbs was hard to remove by fingers. had to use a wrench

It just over tightening your shifter then it hard to shift.

 

I pretty much did that same thing but without my tq wrench. I tightened it until I couldn't really pull up easily on the lever, then loosened it until I could. I cannot loosen it by hand at this point either.

Well, if you search for hydro conversion you will find that damn near everyone that runs one has problems with them being too stiff. Apparently nobody has seen the directions, and neither have I. I'm just trying to get some helpful info out there.
