Default CRX K-serie Question.

I got a question,

I wonder if there's any way to keep the stock hood with a K serie swap...?

Toss the hood ontop of your car and you won't lose it.

the k20 sits just a bit too high for the stock hood. you can try hood spacers from corsport, or make a cutout in your hood, or try to find a cf hood that is raised a bit.

About 5"s worth of spacers should do it.

So you were going to spend well over $10,000 on a K swap but now that you've found out that you can't use a stock hood, you're not going to do it?

Ok,

First of all lol im not a Noob... its not my first swap.

Secondo, Like i said, I dont want to space my hood or cut it. I need OEM look for the project.

So finnaly I got my anwser, i got to change project lol.

And guys dont tell me its costing you 10 000$ to swap a K in a CRX.

Over here its freaking cheap i guess lol.

iam farrrrr farrr farrr from the 10 000$ lol

For 10k ill go type-r turbo 11sec

Question, is the SIR hood a replica of the JDM hood exept for the headlight?

Last question, is there a reason why Hasport did the engine mouth a little too high? i mean why not clear the hood?

A siR replica hood for the USDM front will work...any k20 will work unless using a rbc manifold or itb's, also a k24 will not fit under any hood unless made custom

http://www.k20a.org
^^^all k-series questions can be found here^^

For everyone that thinks k-swaps are "$10,000".. ..ive spent around $6,000 for my entire swap maybe even less...(no shortcuts also, no crappy dc swap header either lol .)

The siR hood closes flush if you cut out the under-webbing.

or you can get the fiberimages siR style hood, and it bolts on the car without cutting. this hood was made for both JDM siR and USDM crx front ends.

as far as 'price' goes... the swap could probably be done for $6000-$20,000. it all depends on which k series motor you chose and parts you add to it.

yea... what people dont think is thier putting a STOCK motor into a car and running mid-low 13's, with STOCK reliability. go ahead and boost that itr, and blow it up doggin on it like you can the k20.

bart ran 12.9 on street tires, stock motor.

most people i know that track with k20a's have ran 11s. so, if you're running 13s with that setup.... something is wrong.

but i think it's safe to say that the OP isnt gonna do the swap.
