Default "Hey dummy! Your lights are on!"

I've got a 95 civic ex and a bad habit of leaving the lights on. I'm used to my 04 civic that makes a beeping noise if i leave the lights on, open the door with the keys out of the ignition. is there anyway i could set that up in my ej1?

I believe all hondas has a beeping noise to indicate your lights are still on once door is open.

But if yous does not have it for some reason, you can mimic this by taking one off another car like say an integra and use it for you car.

this worked on my del sol. all i bought was the piezo buzzer and stuck it into the Wiper, Washer (P/W RLY) (20A) and Tail Light, Instrument Light, License Light (10A)

setup a hammer that drops when you open your door as a reminder.... you wont forget after one hit i guarentee it.

My car came stock with a beeper for when the door is ajar and i think it buzzes when the lights are on (strait tone no beep). it might need to be connected.

yeah actually there is. I just did it on my 95 hatch. It involves a relay, and a couple of wires, but its nothing big.

let me see if i can remember how i wired it up.

get 12 volt relay hook 87 (Normally open) into the blue white wire. (beind your fuse box on the left there is a plug it has 2 blue/white wires on it. hook that into your 87)
hook 30 (common ) in to ground

hook 85 into that same ground wire comming out of 30 ,effectivly making a ground wire #2
connect 86 into the wire that runs your light for your ashtrey. I thinks its red/black. it should ding when you leave your lights on and when your doors open.

It did when i hook edit up that way.

its my understanding that most 92-95s didnt have this luxury of a buzzer to notify you about your lights being on. Luckly for me I had yellow fogs so I knew when I would leave them on.

this cause me to question my car then. i have a nice beeping noise that sound similar to integras. i have a 94 honda civic cx. the cx is a perfect example becuse this was the cheapest of cheap. if a honda did not come with beepers, this model should be it. but i have it. i guess someone was in a good mood and put it on before i own it. hehe.
