pick up for 2007 civic si
i have redlined my car unfortunately atleast seven times. i'm an idiot. mostly because i'm in fourth gear and im trying to go to fifth but i guess i miss it and go back to THIRD. anyways my problem is that my car doesn't pick up as fast as it used to now. does anyone know why that maybe happening? is it because of my redlining and should i replace anything in my motor to fix it? help?

ahhahah...be nice to the guy. he's probably all bent out of shape cuz his car is sucking now. lol
take off the mods to your car, if you have any, and take it in. or do a compression test.

man whats with all the haters.... everyone has mishifted some point in there life. ill admit ive done it too, but caught it before rpms got too high...
your loss of power might be from over revving the engine. who knows how high of rpms you got to but from stories ive herd on HT you get around 10k to 13k and poof there goes your ride.
i would get it checked out like the other members have said.
oh and welcome to honda-tech

If depends on how high your RPM's actually jumped to, but if it was in the 9,000+ range, I would say there's a good chance you bent a valve.
If you are actually noticing a drop in performance, go get a leakdown test... that should help you get started.

maybe he meant he went back into third. i did that once, but luckly i wasnt hammering it, jut cruisin, so it didnt redline or anyting
Your right, go get it checked out i hope you didn't screw it up however you could have been going 100mph in 4th and then dropped to 55mph in 2nd so theres a good chance you did bend the valves
sorry guys! ya. i mean 3rd!! not second! so lets say i bent my valves, how can i restore it back to how it was before?

for the best chance of gettin it fixed under warranty, take off any aftermarket mods u have done to engine, and take it in to the local stealership and pray for the best. if u over reved the motor and they see it in the ecu's history they will most likley tell you your out of luck
