D16A6 Mini-Me with OBD-0????? Help!!!
So, in spring, I will work on my car, getting it turboed...engine is D16A6 OBD-0...
My question is, can I do a "mini-me" with Z6 or Y8 head, and still keep my OBD-0 chippable ECU, my a6 distributor and my a6 intake mani?
I can get a vtec head for cheap, but need to know can I do what I described?....

the distributor will go on it but it'll have to be modified. the ECU will run it but not optimally. The A6 manifold will bolt up to it both intake and exhaust manifolds.
Googled around...found out that the Y8 head will do fine,...distributor will be a bolt-on, ECU will be chipped with WB lambda, Ostrich and Turboedit (so I will engage VTEC thorugh that) once it's been turboed...
If I would use a Z6 head, then 2 out of 3 A6 distributor bolts will be Ok, but would need to "modify" the third one...

The distribitor just requires notching. it will all work. i gotta pr4 ecu that I was using on my z6 already tuned for boost and 450cc injectors for sell. V tech can be done via rpm activated switch. the fuel curve already has erichment from 4300 to red line. My turbo with mani and ecu are both for sale on for $200 if you need it. I have begun a 800hp drag project on my rex so im parting out my old setup. the ecu can be data logged with serial cable via uberdata, chrome or hondata and has provisions for aftermarket chips to just be inserted. it spools great from 2500 to redline. You will need to buy or fab a down pipe cause I need it for my next setup. Let me know if you need more info Honda D series turbo manifold and T3 turbo charger good for about 300 hp waste gate set @ 10 psi. No leaks or smoke No Shaft play. Turbo can be oil and water cooled

y8 head should work with your distributor, if you run a z6 head you will have to swap out the dizzy internals so you have obd0 internals in a z6 dizzy housing. also if your ECU didn't come with vtec you can't just add it with software. you would need to convert it to a vtec ecu or use an rpm swith to activate it. not even sure if you can add vtec to an obd0 ecu. you would have to search.

If you really relized that an rpm activated switch works independently of the ecu. you also would know that a one wire vtech program is a non vtech ecu that controls only the solenoid activation at a preset rpm. In short it doesn't really matter how you control it as long as you control it!
