Engine Mounts Replacement for 95 Accord
Hi,
How hard is it to replace an engine mount, can an average joe can do it or just give it to a mechanic?
Front and passenger side is almost needed to be replace.
How much for something like this will cost to install?
Thanks

you can do it if you are a menchanically inclined person
all you need is a floor jack to raise/support the engine while you take the mounts out and replace then ONE AT A TIME.
also use a block of wood between the floor jack and oil pan.

Floor jack you mean the one to raise the car if ever your going to replace the tire?
I have a 2 ton jack, now is there a special spot where I can put the jack?

I'm guess by what you mean the "front mount" is the one that is between the engine and radiator?? I would say it would be the easiest to replace. I did it with out useing a jack. the mounts on the sides aren't too hard but a jack is needed.
the mount between the engine and the firewall is a pain in the a$$. be easy when you use a jack on the oil pan!!! (to replace the driverside mount) you only want to put enough pressure to "hold the engine" if the long bolt that goes through the mount and the frame is hard to remove you either have too much pressure or not enough... pay attention and watch the engine if you start to lift the car you have way too much!! goodluck!

yes the front and radiator needs to be replace soon and the one on the passenger side/transmission side.
let me see if i get this right, I am going to put my 2 ton jack underneath the oil pan with a wood cover and raise the engine slowly and not raise the car?
The thing is with the CD5 engine bay is full of clutter compare to the 98+ accords. makes it hard to do anything under the hood.
Now tightening the bolts do I need a torque wrench or just make sure its tight and use a regular socket wrench?
Also does it matter if I get a non OEM engine mounts or should I just get the OEM?

ok if you just replacing the passenger side and front don't jack up on the oil pan, jack up on trans... aka... mount on drivers side jack up on oil pan... mount on passenger side jack up on the trans.. just tighten the bolts till there tight. but your not trying to put the gorilla grip on them.. basically what your doing is using the jack to hold the engine in place (taking place of the mount) thats why it's used
