Cant remove stock springs
Hey everyone, well i removed my stock suspension from my 94 del sol and i was going to use H&R lowering springs with my stock shocks untill spring comes. But my problem is the part where you put the allen key and you turn the nut to remove the top hat off. The allen key part is stripped and now i cant even take that nut off, what should i do to remove the top hat to remove my stock springs?
ummm.....you put the impact gun on the nut and you impact it off. wtf dose the allen key have to do with anything. its there for mostly hand tools. to keep the shock from turning.
if its stripped out theres not much you can do. if impact gun cant take it off you are going to have to torch it. or cut it.

are you sure i dont need to use the allen key? Because i noticed that if i dont use the allen key to hold the nut down, the strut would start to turn when i start to remove the top hat. It seems that i am just going in circles.

I put vice grips on the shaft while i was turning the but and the vice grips were just slipping and i had no grip what so ever lol. This is like so frustrating me. And if i were to buy new shocks i need to wait 2 weeks untill i have get my pay check to the amount i need to buy some decent after market shocks.

u are most likely trying to loosen by hand correct?...might be easier if u were using a spring compressor...but if you don't impact is better than manually trying to remove that nut...be careful that nut will fly
