I'm kinda new to swaps but a buddy of mine is gonna be doing it for me but I have a few questions before I buy a used JDM DOHC F20b. I currently have and F22 SOHC in my Prelude. Will I be able to use my tranny that I already have since it's an F-series? And is there anything else I will need to buy to make it all work out correctly? And in what ways is the F20b not as good as the H22a? The reason I'm gonna get an F20b is that I can get it for a good price, but I just wanna know if there is anything I will be missing out on since I'm not going the H22a route.
Thanks

yes, you can keep the F22 tranny. Any H, or non-S2000 F tranny will bolt up.
The F20B has less torque than the H22 but it also has a higher redline and is cast iron instead of FRM. I highly recommend getting the F20B tranny though because the gears are shorter and will compensate better for the lost torque. It also comes stock with an LSD.
F20B is a great engine though. Be sure to get the ECU with it too.

Sounds good, thanks for the info. Also, how would I go about getting aftermarket parts for it. This isn't gonna be my race car, I have an old Civic hatch that I have those plans for, so I'm probably just gonna go the i/h/e setup and fresh paint because I just want this as my daily driver. Would H22 aftermarket products work for it since they are so similar?
get a h22a4 and hook up a b16 tranny to it (h2b) that **** combines the power of the H22 and the good gearing of the b16 tranny, it will b awesome. i think it only will fit into 4th and lower gens tho, but im not sure

So how would I go about getting aftermarket products for the F20B? I'm only doing small things like i/h/e because this will still be my daily driver.

this isnt possible in a prelude chassis.

I think for mods you can look at the i/h/e/ from h22 and they will fit up the same? I am not sure on the exhaust ports for the header, maybe someone can measure an f20b head or manifold to give more insight?

Gee, great advice.....
How GOOD is a GOOD price? If we're talking $2-400 don't bother.......
H22A FTW!

All I really want to know now is how to go about getting aftermarket products for the F20b. If anyone could elaborate on snobordboi's post, that would help me out a lot. I have been asking a few people outside of this site and some say that H22 stuff will work, but some say those parts won't work, so if anyone hasa definitive answer that would be great.
Thanks

Sorry Zak, I was not meaning to sound that way. I was talking about blackludes rediculous post. Props on using the F20B. I wanted to get one just because it is iron bore already. I think it would be a pretty good low boost motor.
i have the same ? but i have a 98 lude sh with a blown h22 engine and h23 tranny i was wondering if i could do the f20 engine with h23 tranny and would it bolt up on the mounts i have? please help me.....
