Please......... Turn it OFF!!!!!!!
I think this maybe serious.
After the 350 plus miles of full-out road racing at Summit, I believe I've developed somesort of damn mental-illness! The Friday test day, Sat. and Sun. events may have messed up my wireing.
I first noticed it driving the tow-rig back to Jersey late Sunday. I found myself double apexing the enterance ramp to the PA Turnpike and dropping off trailer tires trying to carry speed..........
Then today I caught out of the corner of my eye a blue mini-van that seemed to be late braking me into the E-Z Pass toll plaza on the Garden State Parkway, I had somesort of flashback of the #33 Bookler-moble trying to make another run down the inside of turn one. Needless to say the chick in the van didn't win.
I maybe nuts but traffic even looks different than normal...........
Anyone else have this problem?
Matt- Had a blast with our 15 lap nose-to-tail fight on Saturday! I will not run myself out of gas next time. I'm a moron.
Hope you make it to CMP!
Thanks to NasaChris, Scott, Karl, Grumpy and the rest of the Nasa gang.

Piloting the Suburban around town I think of this stuff all the time, I'm afraid. I have to stop myself from inching left for a right hand turn - with that long wheelbase you can't exactly clip the apexes without clipping the curb (or pedestrian) in the process.
The worst was going to work one day last week when I realized what the best line through the on-ramp onto I-40 was. "Wow, if I give up a little at the start, it opens up the rest of it and I get my best exit speed onto the interstate!" Hello, IBM Mental Health? Yeah, I think I need therapy...

Dammit you guys...get it straight: this IS normal. I'm normal, and I'm don't appreciate you guys talking like this. If you're not comfortable being normal then just shut up about it!

Shuffle steering through the neighborhood...
Constantly checking the mirrors for that sneak dive-bomb...
Wondering why you haven't seen the blue flag displayed for the driver in front of you...
(tell me it gets better

You can definately pick us out if you watch. We all seem to take the racing line on just about all on/off ramps. Cars behind us think we're "all over the road".

The job I started a few weeks ago is in an office with a large series of cubicles. I take "the line" whenever walking from one area to another. Setup on the outside, clip the apex, use the whole "track" on the exit ...
We are all sick.

I usually spend the first few minutes in Harris Teeter (grocery store) trying to figure out what kind of cart behavior to expect. Nice smooth wheels, prone to a tad bit of oversteer and tight front axles are a must although I admit to "getting the most out of stock equipment" all too often opposed to the cart swap.
Too bad I use more of the track in the grocery store than I tend to on track

Me: Wha! Hon, what are you doing?
Wife: WTF are you talking about... I'm putting the 12-pack in the cart.
Me: But you're putting it in the back... it has to go in the front or the thing understeers!
Wife: <<sigh>> <<rolls eyes>>
I always drift my grocery cart around the aisles. And sometimes I do walk "the line".
(raises hand) Guilty.

Those carts with wobbly wheels can be an advantage, depending on how your grocery store is set up and which aisles you frequent.
LOL, there's one particular onramp here that's a set of uphill esses that I've throught to myself... "okay, if I give up a little on the entry, I can flatfoot it the rest of the way out. Get a liiittle early on the the last turn and stay in it... heck, I'd have 95mph of exit speed when I finally hit the straight. Oh, crap. Nevermind, the highway speedlimit is 65 there..." I figure merging 30mph over the limit would be effective at avoiding getting rear-ended, but just slightly illegal.
I've gone off and hit the "wall" many times with grocery carts. People always look at you funny when they see a cart oversteering or on 2 wheels. ::sigh:: how else are you supposed to get your shopping done quickly?!
PS- I've always found it better to stagger the weight towards the back. Less understeer. I've had a few carts with toe-out in the back, really helped it rotate well through the uh, Fruit Section Esses, and the Bread Aisle hairpin. A little nervous through the Dairy Sweeper through.

I feel much better now, knowing that I'm not the only one that examines vehicle dynamics at the local grocery store.
Actually...I think I feel a bit worse now

I love being at the grocery store pretending i'm on a road course since there aren't that many around here. Somtimes i just race around the store even though i'm done shopping.

Has to brake at least twice on his way to work exiting an onramp. Does anyone else crawl through the first half of an onramp to give the Mommy van "space"?
