Default Adjustable 2 step options....

I'm just looking around for adjustable 2 step options for my new build.... the car will be tuned on crome (ya, i know there's better out there but that's what i'm using)

So, my question is.... what are my options in terms of an adjustable 2 step system? I'm looking to have something i can adjust between runs if i need to

This will be used on a mild NA car....

i have an MSD Digital6 i love it, i use to have an older 6AL and i hated it, but the digital has an adjustable limter in increments of 100, and can retard timing up to 9 degrees while on the limiter

I also use a Digital6.... Both of my cars... 2step is simple and easy.

Damn, I did not know this. How much boost are you able to make on 2-step with the ignition retarded 9 degrees??

crome has a 2 step feature. not as easy to change it between runs unless your tuner is at the track. but it works pretty good on my NA setup... unless you know how to work with crome then you can change the 2 step yourself at the track.

yeah, i've used the 2 step feature in crome... not really a big fan cause all you can do is guess where you'll launch at best, and if it's too low you're screwed and will just bog every god damn time!!! (yeah, it happened to me)

and, like i said, i need something adjustable

i know an affordable way would be to use the MSD 6AL with the 2 Step on a button.

or you can just remove the 2 step feature in Crome and go run it at the track. then whatever RPM you find that you get the best 60' then program that as your 2 step in Crome.

GET AN AEM.... spend the money and less the headache
you can change the 2 step after every run yourself its simple.
2step settings change all the time depending on the weather, track conditions, ect..

i don't have any headache running crome right now. N/A car and works great.

however someone stated that the ECtune launch control can be adjusted without the use of a laptop. so i'm asking how that can be done???

exactly my point u cant use it!!

NOT USER FRIENDLY= "HEADACHES"

then when you get it setup, u wont be able to change it again!!!
like i said conditions change all the time which means you need to change your setup also!!

AEM = NO HEADACHES
AEM ALL THE WAY BABY

i'd love to go with an AEM EMS but i just don't have that kind of money to spend right now....
and don't you still need a laptop to change settings on the AEM unit?

from what ive heard ectune's 2 step can be changed by holding the gas at the desired 2step rpm then stroke the throttle. it sets the 2step at that desired rpm. its that easy. thats just what ive heard. lmk if im right.

That is correct, you gently rev the motor to where you want to launch from and then go WOT. The rev limit is set there. To change it just repeat the process, rev it up and go wide open where you want to launch from...

Look to MSD for sure, they offer all sorts of add on ignition controls and the like! as well as full on units like the digital6.

As far as the digital 7 goes, stay away from it if you don't know what you're doing really well. The instruction manual reads like an engineering text lol!
