im stuck and can't get off my door panel. 96 honda civic dx. with manual windows. how do i take off the handle?
Gently take the window arm off the door first. Then find all the screws and take them out. It should come off fairly easy.
Otherwise, to be absolutely sure, try to find a tutorial on Google.

use a rag to wedge behind the handle and pop the clip off. the handle will come right off.
p.s. they sell a tool for this as well.

no, you need to get the cover over the handle off, but you do not need the actual handle. like, the lever you pull stays on. Also, you might want to check for all screws, and the panel is held in by many clips, so it needs to POP off. First time might take a little tug, but not a ton. in my em1 my door panels have one screw in the holder, one on the cover on the handle, and 3 down by the speaker. You pop the cover off of the speaker and then there are three holes that have screws in them. they all need to come off as well.
if you need me to take a picture for you, i could. just let me know.

Door panel will NOT come off with the handle/window crank on.
What I usually do is use a flat head and pry the (U) shape clip off.
Explain:
There is a U shaped clip holding the handle/window crank on.
Once it comes off it'll slide right off.
You have to basically put your face right next to the door panel to even see it, If you are trying to use a flat head to get it off.
Or you could just randomly poke at it
Also like someone said there is a tool made just for this very issue
If its the handle that you use to close the door with, then its held on by 1 Phillips screw.
Maybe you can't see it if your handle is dirty

STFU...
You need to take the metal clip off of the back of the handle...
~ Normally, you can use a flat head screw driver to "pop-off" the metal clip...
1. Push back the door panel (near the window crank.)
2. Insert the flat head screw driver between the door panel and the back of the window crank handle. (MAKE SURE YOU DONT LOSE THE CLIP!!!)
3. Once the clip is removed, pull the window crank handle off.
4. Remove misc. screws through-out the door panel and "pop-off" the inner clips of the door panel!
/Done.

you dont need to remove the door panel to take your mirrors. the lever you use to adjust your mirror has a black plastic panel behind it shaped like a triangle, this piece pops off revealing 3 10mm nuts that hold the mirror in place
