WHICH WOULD BE BETTER
which would be faster a b18a ls/vtech with high compression pistons and rods a y1 tranny with a ls fifth gear or a bullet prof b18a ls turbo with the same tranny. also i am not talking top speed i am talking best take off.

that is the ecu has nothing to do with the block we are only talking about the blocks not what year car they came out of not what car there going in not what ecu they will be using with the block just that one will not make more power then the other when doing a ls vtec

well i would just slap a vtec head on a stock ls block, the rods prob. wont last long because the ls block wasnt made to rev high.

they are the same thing except that one says A and the other says B! the block is the same.... stop trying to spread misinformation please.
to the OP in my opinion the LS vtec without type r pistons generally sucks pretty bad...
an ideal setup is the B20 block. Stock bottom end. or put the RS or Sparks pistons.. with a GSR or B16 head... i've done many builds with great power numbers and this setup is very affordable..
and yes you can rev them to a decent RPM 8,000 i've done with many LS-Vtecs with no issues (not saying to go rip on it all day long to 8,000) but if you run it against someone you will be fine at 8,000...
Most of the Ls-vtec / b20 vtec disasters come from people who don't know how to assemble them correctly...

THANKS KEEP THE TIPS COMING U GUYS ARE FUNNY. BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IS THE LS FASTER WITH VTECH OR AS TURBO SET UP. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW TO PUT NEW ROD IN IF I DO THE LS/VTECH

turbo Ls-vtec is a great setup. the Vtec head will give you a big boost in HP over the LS head. depending on the amount of boost as GE said i would sleeve it and run pistons and rods.
