Wheel dent question
I have about a 1" dent on one one of my stock wheels, it's more like a very major curb rash with less than an inch of the lip pushed in. And it's not the entire lip, just an upper portion of the lip. It still holds air fine though.
Would it be alright if I grinded off the pushed in bit, and use jbweld to fill in the rest? Would it hold up when tires are mounted?

That's the thing though, it's small enough that it doesn't look like it'd be structural, just cosmetic. It holds air fine, I'm just wonderin if it'll chip off when tires are mounted. I'll try and get pics today

I don't mind paying the $ to get it fixed professionally if needed, I'm just seein if it's something I could do myself.
Pics:
They hold air fine, and the dented patch doesn't seem to extend too far into the wheel diameter that it would matter..

i still say take it to a pro cus that thing is fuked..jb weld or not it will still look fuked and the 'weld' will not stay on.. i also say if it doesn't affect balance and you mentioned it doesn't leak air then just keep rolling on it .... since u got the tire off then maybe you can take a mouse sander to it and start at low grit and at least make the wound smooth

I think it's usually around $100. A lathe and welding is involved. Talk to them, ask them, shop around.

If those balance out fine with a tire on i would just run them. The area of damage has no effect on the tire bead seal. It's only cosmetic,so if that wheel is worth fixing then fix it ,but if it's just a stock set and relatively easy to find I would run those until I find another spare for cheap.

They were a used and abused stock set of prelude wheels, but I'm refinishing and polishing them to their former glory + more to use as an extra set of shoes just to change it up now and then. So if it's not too much I'm just gonna get the dent straightend out at the shop.
Thanks for all the help
