changing VTEC solenoid.. a lot of oil loss?
i recently did an oil change and i would like to know if i change the vtec solenoid gasket will a lot of oil be loss when i take off the solenoid(im talking about the whole solenoid, not just the top gasket)? has anyone done this before, need some input. TIA
yup, lots of oil leakage !!! You should have drained the oil first, remove solenoid, change filter, clean it then install,.....then put new oil in...I learned this the hard way, lol
you'll lose oil but if you let your car cool when you do it and have a rag handy, then you won't lose as much. don't do it right after you drive it.

Absolutely not. All the oil drains through the head into the pan when the engine is off. Whether the pan is full or drained has no bearing on the amount of oil in the cyl. head. The only oil it retains is a bit of residual that puddles around the head bolts.

i hope your right man
i recently fixed a leak by firestone and they gave me fresh oil after words, my plan was to get my car back and switch the gaskets then get fresh oil.
