HID Question's
i have been searching the internet for about an hour now looking at HID conversions and i have a couple of questions. First, whats a ballast and an ignitor? Second, what is the difference between a H1 H3 and H4? Lastly, would it cost that much to equip a 93 dx with HID from wrecked cars(Acura TL, BMW, etc.)?
Here is a good link to learn about the things on HID that you're asking about. http://www.bajadesigns.com/p25b.html You might want to do a search on google next time!
Good luck.

yeah, get a real conversion kit w/ D2R (reflector) capsules made specifically to replace your H4 headlights. The ignitor fires the arc inside the capsule, and I believe the ballast steps up the voltage and regulates it. It's very similar in operation to flourescent lamps.

yeah.. the ballast basically acts like an amplifier, 12v to 25,000v ...
