where can i get the aluminum wheather stripping in between the boor and roof

Default where can i get the aluminum wheather stripping in between the boor and roof

i dont know if you guys know what im talking about but its adhesive whether stripping that is aluminum. i need both for each side. i went to honda and they said 112.00 for ea of them. expletiveing ridiculous. those things are mad of nothing. they are painted to match the car. not like black rubber like on most hondas. take pics if you guys dont know what im talkn about

Yeah, if it's what I think you're talking about I just took those off of my car the other day It's like a painted metal strip with a thich clear cover over it. Some people shave them off...

would it look ok if i just took the clear film off the top? mine is peeling but im afraid to mess with it

To get it off you will have to either scrape or sand it and that will most likely mess up the finish underneath it..

well the reason i ask is because i had my car painted at its chipping and pealing on that stripping. so i can just sand it down and paint over it. i guess the guy that paint it didnt sand it down to bare metal

Yeah, and they come off pretty easy. It has little plastic clips that hold it to the body, and if you slide it either forward or backwards (I forget) it will pop right off.
