Default head gasket

i have a 1990 honda civic d16a6, i recently changed the head gasket on it, but i didn't mill the head. the car still smokes and blows water out the tail pipe, also it does not idle it jumps around like 1k to 2k cannot adjust it. does this mean i need a new head or block? or do i just need to mill the head and a new head gasket?

well technically... water is suppost to come out of the exhaust. its called condensation. what color is it smoking? white or blue? does it "jump" as in up down? braahbraahbraahbraah? or just 1k for most the time then randomly idle at 2k?

well i understand the condisation part but its not supposed to last the whole time my car is on is it? and the idle is either at 1 or 2 no jumping like if the idle postion sensor was bad. and its greyish smoke like steam

Idle position sensor? There is a chance that some of that smoke is from what is in the exhaust from the head gasket change, this is common after a HG change.

really? even the water coming for the pipe is normal? i changed the gasket and i've ran it maybe 4 times and the water still comes out pipe and i take the radiator cap off and i get air bubbles witch means head gasket right? and my car wont stay at a steady idle its either at 1k or 1.5k it wont idle at 700 like its supposed to. im going to take the head off again and see what happens. ill post a picture with the head off and maybe that will give a closer look at it

holy crap dude.... like i said. WATER WILL COME OUT!! look at the cars around you... water dripping out of the pipe. what color smoke now? you COULD have a leaky intake mani gasket, sucking water into the mani, then burning it thus causing smoke. and unless water is pouring out at a gallon a min, then dont worry about it

compression is high and stays high, timing is right on the dot and i cleanedd the position sensor. ichecked all these things, i also checked every vacume to see if that was it and none were broke, i did a full tune up after i changed the head gasket oil, oilfilter, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, even a new timing belt. the engine doesnt idle right either i cant get it to go lower than 1k
