Default 1990 EX- issues?

I picked up a 1990 EX 4dr for a winter car and having a few small issues.

1)The door locks, All the doors lock fine except the drivers door, in order to lock this door I have to pull the handle from the inside then press the lock button.
If I lock manually with the key it works fine.
What could this be?

2) CEL, I get a CEL.. but cant check it as it goes away when I turn the car off.
If I am driving its ifn,e but as soon as I decelerate the light comes on. I dont notice any thing different in performance of the car.. As soon as the car turns off/on its gone.. How do I diagnose a light that doesnt stay on?

Thanks.

edit: Forgot to add, the car is basically stock, has an intake cone filter added on by the last owner though.

If you hear a whirring noise in the door, it's the door lock actuator that's gone bad (kinda common).

CEL you'll need to have a shop pull the code to determine it.

There is no noise.. almost looks like the thing is getting stuck, until I pull the handle.

the door handle pull lock is a feature on hondas that has been there for year and still is there on newer models like me 02 rsx type s. it is so you have to be aware you are locking that door in order to prevent accidental lockouts. kinda sucks but oh well
