Engine suddenly shuts off while driving on freeway
I have a 00 si...
I was driving on the freeway then all of sudden, the engine shuts off. After a couple cranks, it wont start, then a couple cranks later, it will turn back on. This happened several times in the past already. There is no CEL. Anyone know whats the problem?
i have no clue...
Thanks
anyone think its a fuel related pressure problem? like fuel filter?

Possible coil going bad? My car died on me about a month ago and it was the coil. I would get the distributor and all components checked out. Or next time it does it, pull one of the plugs and see if you are getting any spark. Sounds like an ignition problem to me though.
see if the main relay is faulty. main rel on civics are notorious for going out once in a while. a distributor problem is just as likely. i had a bad main rel couple years back but didnt have the tells signs so it was hard to figure out. it kept shutting off at random times too. when u turn the key to on position u should hear the fuel pump prime for a couple seconds and then a click as the cel goes out. this is all normal operation as it lets u know that you should be getting fuel. but even if everything ops checks ok, you should still test it. one of the terminal leads on my relay was bad so i replaced it and fired up no prob. changing the fuel filter isnt a bad idea either considering most people tend to forget about it and over time may even block fuel flow. let us know what the problem is if you find it
