I searched it and never found a clear answer, but... The OEM ITR seats, where they designed or created by Recaro or are they just some standard design? Any info is appreciated!

 

USDM or JDM?

I've even wondered if the JDM seats are designed by recaro. All the fabrics match in the car so I could see either honda designing the seat and recaro paying honda money to switch the logo in. Or recaro designed the seats and honda gave them the fabric, or it was a joint effort on both companies to make a seat.

 

Are we talking seat design, or the seat covers?

I would venture to say that the USDM seats were designed by Honda, and covered by Honda.

The JDM models I would say are designed by Recarco and the covers by Honda.

No facts here, just my guess.

Think about it... All other USDM seats are "basically" the same in regards to seat design. However I've seen the same Recaro's found in the JDM ITR's in other models of cars. The material, or covers is the only thing different/unique to our cars.

The JDM ITR seats are a standard Recaro SRD model that you can/could buy from Recaro. I've seen them in Porsches, BMWs and other cars as well. The fabric was specified by Honda, but the seats were manufactured and covered by Recaro.

 

Good input... I was thinking along the same lines, just didn't know for sure!

 

I heard, not sure if its true though, that all Honda seats were made by Recaro just as all brakes were made by Nissin (except for the newer Brembos)

I'm sure they are a few skinny Americans left would would love to trade their fatass USDM seats for your skinny *** JDM seats. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them!
